How is Aluminium coil made?

Aluminium coils can be obtained through a smelting process and adjustment of metal composition, either using a horizontal casting machine or by hot-rolling sheets obtained from a discontinuous vertical casting machine.

Is aluminum foil really aluminum?

Aluminum foil is 98.5% aluminum with the balance primarily from iron and silicon to give strength and puncture resistance. The molten alloy is rolled thin and solidified between large, water-cooled chill rollers. During the final rolling, two layers of foil are passed through the mill at the same time.

1050a IS formed BY adding a small amount of iron in pure aluminum, which has excellent forming characteristics, high corrosion resistance, good weldability and electrical conductivity. 1050a IS WIDELY USED IN products WITH LOW strength requirements, such as chemical instruments, sheet machining, deep drawing or spinning concave utensils, welding parts, heat exchanger, clock surface and plate, nameplates, kitchenware, ornaments, reflective appliances, etc.

1050A and 1060 are industrial pure aluminum with aluminum content (mass fraction) of 99.50% and 99.60%, respectively, and cannot be strengthened by heat treatment. The surface of pure aluminum is silver white, and its density decreases with the increase of purity or temperature. They have high electrical conductivity and thermal conductivity, good plasticity, easy to withstand all kinds of pressure processing and bending, extension, but low strength. The candlestick performance and welding performance of industrial pure aluminum is good, can be used for gas welding, hydrogen welding and resistance welding, but its cutting machinability is poor.

One of the outstanding characteristics of industrial pure aluminum is that it has good corrosion resistance. This is because aluminum has a strong tendency to combine with oxygen, and a layer of oxide film is generated on the surface of aluminum in the air to prevent the continued oxidation of aluminum, so that aluminum has good corrosion resistance. 1050A and 1060 are widely used in electrical conductors, chemical storage tanks, brewing industry hoses, food containers, cooking utensils, heat exchangers, decorative materials, etc. It is also used to make welding rods and aluminum powder. Its electrodes are used to weld aluminum plates and pure aluminum containers, and its aluminum powder is used as fireworks powder.
